Millennium Sports Ground and Pavillion
The MSG is situated in Long Strops, Kesgrave, on the southern edge of the Grange Farm development, adjacent to Dobbs Wood. [see Kesgrave Map].
The area was levelled and sown in Autumn 1999 and started being used in the season starting September 2001. On 18th August 2002 the pavilion was officially opened by two Ipswich Town football players who then kicked off an opening match between Kesgrave Kestrel Seniors and Managers.

The MSG area includes two sports pitches 110 yards (1000m) by 80 yards (73m) each and the pavilion which is slightly larger than Kesgrave Bowls pavilion, has showers, changing rooms, communal refreshment space and storage area and ancillary facilities.

The Pavilion is principally used by football teams using the two pitches. There have been others but at present the only other user is the Army Cadets who hire the building two nights a week.
The Town Council are keen to see more use of the building but realise not everyone knows what is on offer.
As the building was designed to act as changing facilities for sports teams there are four separate communal changing rooms with showers and a loo, two officials changing rooms which are smaller and three separate toilets, one of which is for disabled use.
But of more significance to other users is the meeting room and kitchen. The meeting room measures 11m by 6.5m. This room will accommodate different styles of meeting layouts. For example, 48 seated in theatre style, 24 seated in the round, 24 seated at 6 tables.
All the above are approximate figures for a comfortable arrangement but the building has 60 chairs in total.
Hiring is currently £20.00 for a morning/afternoon or evening session and because of the design of the building the Town Council are hoping to find hirers who will want to have use of it on a regular basis, rather than one-off hirings. A discount of 1 in 10 on block bookings will be made.
If you wish to receive further information or would like to see if this building would meet your needs please contact the Town Council on 625179.
