Firework Night
Introduction
The reference material contained in this section provides back ground information on running a firework night. It is based on the firework nights we have been running over many years. Please feel free to use any of it or contact our scout group for further information.
We originally started running firework night with the scout group running the event, building a bonfire, lighting the fireworks, doing the cooking etc. We had an audience of a couple of 100 people and made up to £750 for funds.
Since 2002 we have worked in conjunction with the 3 local primary school PFA's and we share the tasks between us. The firework display is now provided by a professional company (Firework Emporium, Foxhall Road), we don't have a bonfire, we have an audience of over 3,000 and raise around £6,000 for the 4 organisations involved. It is now a key date in the local community calendar.
