Cycle Camp Equipment List
This section provides an outline equipment list for cycle camp.
Catering
- Cooking boxes (full of cooking utensils, pots, pans etc)
- Gas burners
- Gas Urn
- Gas
- Tables
- Water containers
- Chafers and fuel (to keep food warm)
Adult Cyclists
- First aid kit
- Throw rope (if by water for significan distances eg canal towpath)
- Tools (allen keys, spanners, tyre levers, pump, inner tubes, puncture repair kit)
- Gaffer tape (useful to patch up things)
- Flourscent jacket
- Mobile phones (to request support, report on progress)
- Laminated maps
- Radios (optional - tend not to work over sufficient range to be of real use. Limited to a few km's)
Drink/Lunch Stops (in cars)
- Bike Spares (inner tubes, repair kits.
- First aid kit
- Water container
- pump pots/urns for hot water
- Gas burner/kettle (to re-heat hot water or from scatch)
- Maps
- Tea, coffee, milk etc
- OS maps of complete area covered
Misc
- Gas burner spares (gas pipe, regulators, O-rings)
- Canopies (for cooking under in wet weather) plus straps/rope/pegs to hold them down in windy weather.
- Gazebo(s) for drink/lunch stops en route in the event of wet weather. Ideally self assembly.
- Rope (for securing bikes during transportation etc)
- Spare games/challenges eg chess sets(for wet weather)
- Games kit eg football, rounders bat and ball, cricket set etc
- DVD Player, Video projector and suitable films (to entertain if weather is really bad)
- 6-10 way mains adapter(s) and extension cable. For use with dvd player and to allow mobile phones to be charged.
Sleeping
- Tents (if required) plus pegs, mallets etc
- Ground sheets (if required)
