Introductory Letter - 8 Mar 08
Dear All
With just a week to go hopefully this is the last letter.
- Tue 11 Mar Technical rehearsal (Please check with your section leader if you are needed for this and for how long)
- Fri 14 Mar Dress Rehearsal 6.15pm
- Sat 15 Mar Shows 1.15pm and 6.15pm
- Sun 16 Mar Show 1.15pm
As I don’t yet know the exact length of the show then I cannot give you a pick up time but we will put up notices at the theatre and I should have some idea by Fridays rehearsal.
Children should be dropped/collected in the foyer and signed in and out of the building.
If your child has a costume then please could you bring the costume on a named coat hanger. Children should arrive for the show in their uniform. Where there are combinations of uniform the leaders will let you know the preferred options. Please feel free to bring a quiet game.
The cast will need to wear some make-up; this should comprise foundation, lipstick and blusher. It would be a great help if all children could be made up at home using your own make up where possible. If you have any problems (eg you don't have the makeup or your child is allergic to certain products) then please let your section leader know.
On the Saturday between performances we usually send the children home so that the leaders can put their feet up between performances. Please arrange for your child to be collected and returned at 6.15pm.
PARTY
We are arranging a party on 19 April as a thank you to everyone for the hard work put into the show. We are having a Disco and the party will be from 7pm to 11pm at the Scout Hall. All the children in the cast are of course included and all Section leaders/adults involved in the show are invited with their families (ie including partners and children that have not taken part in the show).
To help with the cost of the party we would be grateful if you would help with the food in the following way: all girls should bring a packet of crisps, sweet or savoury biscuits/cakes or some other nibbles/healthier snack, boys should bring a bottle of coke, lemonade or other soft drink and each adult family group should bring a plate of sandwiches, sausage rolls etc from the list. Adults should provide their own drinks please.
We would like all unaccompanied Rainbows, Beavers, Brownies and Cubs collected at 9pm or
earlier if you feel that this is too late. Guides and Scouts should be collected at 10pm!
As this is hopefully the last letter I will need to write in connection with the show I would like to thank you all for playing your part whether as member of the cast, helper or simply taxi driver for rehearsals. Without each one of you the show would not be possible and a lot of people would miss out on a lot of fun!
