Kesgrave Community Website Admin Help
Welcome
Welcome to the admin page of the Kesgrave Community Website. Using the menus above you can:- add, edit and delete events in the calendar
- add, edit and delete news items
- add, edit and delete classified entries
- add, edit and delete reference material
Notes are provided below for each option.
Events
To add events to a calendar you need to be a registered user or send details of your event to admin@kesgrave.org.uk and the administrator will endeavour to post the events on your behalf. However we would prefer if individuals entered events themselves as it is time consuming if we get lots of people sending events for posting.Calendars
The site provides two calendars. Please ensure you choose the correct heading when adding an event to the website.
- Community Calendar - Kesgrave events open to all the community eg jumble sales, workshops, AGM's, disco's, fayre's etc.
- Regular Event Calendar - Weekly Kesgrave events open to all the community eg club meetings, country markets etc.
Registered user with calendar access
If you are a registered user (ie you have an account on the system) and you have been given calendar access by the administrator you will be able to add, edit and delete events from the calendars without requiring authorisation by the site administrator ie any additions, changes or deletions will be shown immediately on the website.
News Items
To add news items to a news feed you need to be a registered user or send details of your newsto admin@kesgrave.org.uk and the administrator will endeavour to post the news on your behalf. However we would prefer if individuals entered news item themselves as it is time consuming if we get lots of people sending news in for posting.News Content
Content added to this website should only be for news or events open to the general public (eg fund raising events, open days, AGM's etc), not individual club meetings (eg scout meetings, football matches, cricket matches etc) as this would swamp the website.
The site provides eight content feeds. Please ensure you choose the correct heading when adding content to the website.
Further afield is for areas outside of Kesgrave. Further afield is available to anyone who wishes to publicise their charity, event etc but is primarily intended to be localish ie Ipswich and surrounding areas and major events in Suffolk.
Classifieds
To add adverts you need to be a registered user (see below) or send details of your advert to classifieds@kesgrave.org.uk and the administrator will endeavour to post the advert on your behalf, However we would prefer if individuals entered adverts themselves as it is time consuming if we get lots of people sending events for posting. If you have registered you can add, edit and delete ads.The classifieds section is primarily aimed at residents of Kesgrave and surrounding areas.
Registration is done automatically and is only intended to provide a simple level of authentication and allow the administrator to stop people posting anything inappropriate. You may use any user name you like. NB If you use Internet Explorer as your browser you need to add the domain ‘comberenterprises.co.uk’ via internet options, privacy, sites, address of website.
If you cannot find a category or sub-category for an advert you are trying to post please email classifieds@kesgrave.org.uk to request a new heading.
