Route 66 operated by First In Norfolk & Suffolk

Buses run 7 days a week (including public holidays), in the daytime & evening until approx midnight.

Mondays to Fridays approx. every 20 minutes (daytime) and every 45 minutes in the evenings.

Saturdays approx. every 20 minutes (daytime) and every 45 minutes in the evenings.

Sundays and Public Holiday approx. every 30 minutes (daytime) and every hour in the evenings.

The last bus back from Ipswich on Mon-Sat is at 11.50pm from Ipswich train station and at 11.56pm from the Old Cattle Market. On Sundays the last bus back is at 10.50pm from Ipswich train station and at 10.56pm from the Old Cattle Market.

Between Ipswich Railway Station - Ipswich Old Cattle Market Bus Station - Beech Road (Rushmere) - Penzance Road (Kesgrave) - Bell Lane - Twelve Acre Approach - Guided Bus Way (Tesco) - Ropes Drive – Main Road - Martlesham Heath (Eagle Way & Gloster Road) – Martlesham Tesco

On the route from Martlesham into Ipswich the bus goes via Tower Ramparts Bus Station to the Railway Station.

Buses run Mondays to Saturdays (except public holidays), in the daytime - approximately every hour.

Route:

Between Ipswich Old Cattle Market Bus Station – Kesgrave (Main Road) – Fentons Way (some services only) – Cambridge Road / Edmonton Close (some services only) Martlesham Tesco - Woodbridge – Melton Chapel

Certain journeys operate via either Fentons Way or Cambridge Road to replace parts of the former service 64 and the withdrawn service 68.

There are 4 services via Fentons Way in each direction each day (Mon- Sat).

There are 3 services via Edmonton Close / Road and Cambridge Road in each direction each day (Mon- Fri). There is an additional journey to Woodbridge and Melton on a Saturday morning.

All services are wheelchair and buggy-accessible.

Community Transport

When bus services are cut, this can cause hardship for residents who find themselves unable to walk the longer distances to other bus stops. You can also get this information when you’re at a bus stop. Each bus stop flag has a bus stop code and a telephone number to use. You’ll be sent a message in return with the time of the next bus.

Some FAQs for the Martlesham Park and Ride (as of 9th Nov 2013).

> What does it cost?

£3 for a family or group of up to five people who travel together from Martlesham on both the outward and return journey into Ipswich. (This ticket allows a maximum of 2 people over the age of 19)

£3 for an adult return ticket from Martlesham to Suffolk One and London Road Park & Ride.

£2.50 for an adult return ticket from Martlesham to Kesgrave High School, Ipswich Hospital or Central  Ipswich.

If you are travelling from Kesgrave High School it costs £2.50 for an adult return ticket to Ipswich Hospital and Central Ipswich. From the High School it costs £3 for an adult return ticket to Suffolk One and London Road Park & Ride.

> Are there any discounts?

You can buy a Endeavour Card which costs £22.50 for 10 adult return trips. The trips must be purchased in blocks of 10, with a maximum of 100 trips. There’s no time limit on the use of these cards.

> What if I have a Bus Pass? Can I travel for free?

No. The free travel scheme was withdrawn in April 2011.

Instead, Bus Pass Holders can buy an adult return ticket for £1.

This ticket is only valid after 0930 Mondays to Fridays. It can be used anytime on Saturdays.

If you travel before 0930 you will need to pay £2 for an adult return ticket.

> Where can I get the bus to and from?

There is a bus stop at Kesgrave High School, Ipswich Hospital, (Woodbridge Road) and various stops in Ipswich town centre (including Tower Ramparts and close to the Railway Station). The bus then goes to the London Road Park & Ride site. (Maps are available to show you all the routes and the associated stops. Click here for details).

> Do Park & Ride services stop at Suffolk One Sixth Form Centre?

Yes. Services scheduled to leave Martlesham at 0800, 0812, 0824, 0836, 0848, and then at 36 minutes past the hour until 1512, 1524 and 1536 to Suffolk One on college days only.

> What times do Park & Ride Service run at?

Mondays to Saturdays, excluding Bank Holidays: every 12 minutes between 0700 and 1848 (from Martlesham). The last P&R bus leaves Ranelagh Road, Station Bridge at 1900 and from opposite the Old Cattle Market bus station) at 1905.

There is no service on Sundays except during the Christmas period.

> What about bus travel once I get to Ipswich?

Once you get into Ipswich you can enjoy free travel on all Ipswich Buses services in Ipswich, using your Park and Ride ticket. For details of Ipswich Bus services please see their website  http://www.ipswichbuses.co.uk

> What happens if I miss the last Park and Ride bus home?

Don’t panic! You can catch superoute 66 buses back to Kesgrave. These buses will drop you off close to the P&R site. The exit gates at the site are left open, so you won’t find your car or bike locked-in! Park & Ride tickets may not be valid on these services, normal bus fares may apply.

The last 66 bus currently runs from Ipswich Railway Station at 11.50pm and at 11:56pm from the Old Cattle Market Bus Station (Mon –Sat).

> Can I use Park and Ride if I don’t have a car?

Yes, the cost is the same whether you walk, cycle or drive to the Martlesham P&R site. Cycle parking stands are provided. Cycle lockers require £1 (which you get back).

> Are the services accessible to those with disabilities or baby buggies?

Fully accessible low-floor buses are used. The terminal building at Martlesham has a heated waiting area, accessible toilets and baby change facilities. You can also borrow wheelchairs and shopping trolleys if you leave a £10 deposit with the staff.
