Annual Town Meeting
Monday 03 Apr 2017 19:15
Once a year the Town Council holds an open meeting that can be attended by anyone. This year it will take place at 7.15pm on 3rd April 2017 at the Millennium Jubilee Hall.
It is an occasion for members of the public and local organisations to ask questions, make comments and raise issues with the Town Council. We hope that many local people and organisations will attend this Meeting. This is the occasion each year when we reflect together on the life of the Town.
Grant cheques will be distributed to some of our local voluntary groups and sporting organisations at the Meeting, following the Town Council’s agreed’ Annual Grants Schedule.
Views can be expressed in two ways:
- By submitting a Resolution to be discussed at the Town Meeting. Written notice of the Resolution must be submitted to the Clerk prior to the Meeting. If the Resolution is passed, the Town Council is obliged to consider the matter at a subsequent Meeting.
- By participating and speaking at the Town Meeting.
You may just want to come along to find out what the current issues are and what we have done about issues raised last year. Everybody is welcome and light refreshments will be available.
