Woodbridge Tide Mill Talk - 18 May - The Suffolk Coastline from Corton in the north to the River Orwell
Once again, the Woodbridge Tide Mill is delighted to host a Mark Mitchels’ lecture on Thursday 18th May 2017 in Woodbridge Community Hall.
The year’s talk will be on The Suffolk Coastline : from Corton in the north to the River Orwell.
The Suffolk coast remains largely unknown even to East Anglians and this illustrated talk includes the popular resorts of Lowestoft, Southwold and Felixstowe as well as the historic towns of Aldeburgh, Orford and Woodbridge with their lovely rivers Alde, Ore and Deben. Between these places are miles of sea shore and glorious deserted spaces.
We welcome friends old and new to hear Mark tell us about the story of the lost city of Dunwich which provides a sobering example of how threatened this coastline is by the ravages of the sea and eternal erosion.
The Lecture starts @ 7.30pm (doors open @ 7.00pm) and tickets are available from the Tide Mill or by contacting Anne Barratt, tel: 01394 382815.
Cost £7.50 which includes a glass of wine or soft drink.
